Port William is located in the Machars in South West of Scotland, Wigtownshire, Dumfries & Galloway. It lies on the shores of Luce Bay looking towards The Rhins of Galloway to the West and The Isle of Man to the South.
Port William is situated in an area of outstanding natural beauty and has two Sites of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI) within the bay. In March 2005, Luce Bay from Burrow Head to The Mull of Galloway was designated as a Special Area of Conservation (SAC) to protect the natural habitats of wild flora and fauna much of it rare and protected.
