World Oceans Day is designated by the United Nations as

the 8th of June each year.

Our celebrations in Dumfries and Galloway last for a week surrounding the 8th of June and start by bringing together organisations connected with the sea, be it conservation, commercial fishing, angling, birds, rocks, seashells, lifeboats or sub-aqua clubs to bring to the attention of the public how important our oceans are to the planet.
